Terminal blocks connect field wiring to control-panel components and documentation. Selection should reflect signal type, conductor, voltage, current, environment, labeling, testing, and maintenance—not only the terminal color or size.
Record the connection requirements
List digital, analog, power, shield, thermocouple, network, and safety-related circuits. Capture conductor size, current, voltage, fuse or disconnect needs, jumper requirements, test access, spare terminals, segregation, grounding, and cable entry.
Coordinate with drawings
Match terminal numbering, wire labels, cable schedule, I/O list, schematic, panel layout, and field termination plan. Identify the owner of ferrules, shield bonding, spare capacity, and changes to the as-built package.
