Material-handling panels are shaped by the flow sequence: conveyors, elevators, feeders, diverters, sensors, drives, and upstream or downstream permissives. A useful design brief describes what must start, stop, interlock, alarm, and restart instead of beginning with a component list alone.

Documentation and responsibility
Request the flow diagram, equipment list, I/O list, motor and drive data, sequence narrative, alarm matrix, network plan, panel layout, cable schedule, and handover documents. State who supplies field devices, machine wiring, safety functions, software, commissioning, and site acceptance.
Scope boundary
This is a design-input guide, not a machine-safety assessment or a validated production sequence. The integrator and responsible engineer must approve the final control architecture.
