Define the HVAC plant sequence
An industrial HVAC control panel may coordinate fans, pumps, chillers, dampers, valves, sensors, drives, alarms, and building or process interfaces. The panel must follow the sequence and environmental duty rather than a generic HVAC component list.
Inputs to collect
| Input | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Equipment and motor schedule | Defines starters, drives, and feedback |
| Temperature, pressure, and flow points | Establishes control and alarm signals |
| Operating modes | Clarifies automatic, manual, standby, and fault behavior |
| HMI, BMS, or SCADA interface | Defines data ownership and communications |
| Site environment and heat | Sets enclosure, cooling, access, and cable entry |
| Documentation and commissioning | Establishes drawings, tests, and responsibility |
Scope boundary
This guide does not validate HVAC capacity, comfort, safety, or building-code compliance. Confirm the final sequence and instrumentation with the mechanical and controls engineers.
