Medium-Voltage Switchgear Diagram: Feeders, Protection, and Interface Inputs

Appareils de commutation sous enveloppe métallique ou sous gaine métallique

Define the MV network view

A medium-voltage switchgear diagram normally identifies incoming sources, ring or radial feeders, transformer ways, breakers or switches, earthing, CT/VT and relay interfaces, and control or communication boundaries.

Review checklist

ItemPlanning question
Network topologyIs the normal and alternate supply path clear?
Feeder and transformer waysAre cable, transformer, and load interfaces identified?
Protection and measurementAre CT/VT, relays, trips, and alarms documented?
Earthing and interlocksAre permitted operating states and maintenance boundaries clear?
Site and evidenceDo drawings, tests, and ratings match the actual assembly?

Scope boundary

This is a diagram-reading guide, not an MV protection study or switching procedure. The project engineer must approve the final diagram and assembly.
