Dimensions must follow the contents
NEMA 3R enclosure dimensions should be derived from component layout, cable bend radius, heat, door swing, service clearance, mounting, drainage, and future space. External width and height alone do not define a workable enclosure.
Dimensioning inputs
| Input | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Component and layout schedule | Establishes internal width, height, and depth |
| Cable entry and bend radius | Reserves termination and routing space |
| Heat and ventilation | Affects usable volume and cooling arrangement |
| Door, lock, and access | Defines service space and operating clearance |
| Mounting and foundation | Sets supports, lifting, and installation interfaces |
| Drainage and weather exposure | Preserves outdoor function and maintenance access |

Confirm dimensions against the actual configuration and manufacturer drawing. This guide does not certify a NEMA rating or installation clearance.
