Wiring documentation connects a panel’s physical assembly to field installation, commissioning, maintenance, and future change control. The package should remain aligned with the I/O list, terminal plan, cable schedule, and as-built revision.

Core records

Prepare the schematic, wiring diagram, terminal plan, cable schedule, wire or terminal labels, grounding and shielding notes, network diagram, component list, and drawing revision. Mark customer-supplied interfaces and unresolved assumptions.

Review before handover

Check wire identifiers, terminal numbers, conductor information, cable entries, segregation, spare points, shield or bonding responsibility, and external connector locations. Record approved changes and update the final package rather than relying on marked-up paper alone.
