How the assembly works at a system level
Air-insulated switchgear routes power through bus and feeder compartments while switching devices control current paths. Protection relays and measurement transformers detect defined conditions, and interlocks and earthing devices manage permitted operating states.
What to document
Define normal and alternate sources, feeder functions, breaker or switch duties, protection signals, CT/VT data, earthing sequence, cable terminations, control power, alarms, and remote interfaces. The working principle should match the one-line diagram and operating procedure.
Scope boundary
This overview does not provide a live switching procedure or protection setting. The responsible engineer must verify the actual assembly and site safety method.
