It does not assume one universal pump arrangement, PLC, VFD, communication protocol, or enclosure rating.

Define the water-supply objective

State what the system must maintain or deliver: constant pressure, tank level, flow, transfer, booster operation, or another defined objective. Include normal demand, low-demand behavior, start/stop conditions, and fallback or manual operation.

The objective determines whether the panel needs one pump, multiple pumps, lead/lag control, speed control, pressure feedback, level protection, or another architecture. A product title such as “water supply control cabinet” does not define the complete sequence.

Pump and motor inputs

Provide pump duty information, motor nameplate data, supply, starting method, operating hours, expected starts, and any duty/standby arrangement. If pumps differ, identify the lead and standby roles and the conditions that switch between them.

For two-pump systems, the Duplex Pump Control Panel article covers sequence and I/O questions. For variable-speed systems, use the VFD Pump Control Panel Selection checklist.

Pressure, level, and flow signals

Create an I/O list for every process signal. Do not assume a sensor technology or signal range without the project requirements.

Starter and VFD options

A water-supply system may use direct starting, soft starting, or VFD control. Define whether the objective requires constant pressure, ramped starting, energy management, or another speed-control function. Provide motor data, feedback, setpoint behavior, stop conditions, and response to a drive fault.

Les Armoire de contrôle de l'équipement d'approvisionnement en eau page is the product-level route. Compare its actual scope with the project requirements rather than assuming that every cabinet includes a VFD, PLC, bypass, or remote interface.

Control sequence to document

Write the sequence in plain language before finalizing panel components:

What starts the lead pump?

Which pressure, level, or flow threshold stops it?

When is a second pump called?

How is alternation or lead selection performed?

What happens if a pump fails to start or reports a fault?

Which conditions inhibit automatic operation?

What can the operator do in local/manual mode?

Which alarms and statuses are sent to a PLC, HMI, or supervisory system?

The approved sequence should come from the process owner or engineer.
